Guess who is pissing off her co-workers by saying “Twins versus Los Tigrrrrres”? Yeah, that’d be me. I don’t know why they are so touchy. I mean, I guess they are still a little leery after the month I spent singing “Sometimes when we touch, the honesty’s too much.” They may be a little gun-shy.

I mean, I want to be all “Baseball trumps Idol” and all that jazz BUT I just feel like I am cheating on my addiction to reality TV singing programs. Who is going to fangirl over Adam? WHO?????

Baseball Roadtrip
Well, hell. I had originally planned a short weekend flight to Philly to attend a friend’s wedding in Baltimore (cheaper flights into Philly and I can also sing Motown Philly back again…) but that plan has EXPLODED (or IMPLODED, depends on your outlook.) My three day weekend has turned into a full week and 55% of it is baseball related (and breweries/distilleries too.) I want to check out a Baltimore Orioles game *cough*with Metsgrrl*cough*, Nationals, and maybe the Pittsburg Pirates. If you have any Words of Wisdom to pass along regarding those teams (stadium, tickets, signs, don’t wear orange) please let me know! Oh, the other 45% will be taken up with visiting friends, seeing David Cook in concert, oh…and a wedding. Huh.

This is…American Idol

Huh. Guess who is in possession of four tickets to the Season 8 American Idol concert? ME! You may be asking “Four seats? Why for you need four seats?” Well, it’s a good thing you asked. You see, I am taking Olivia (who I brought to last season’s concert tour). I know, that leaves two vacant seats, right? Wrong. September 1, 2009 when Adam Lambert and the rest of the Season 8 American Idols hit Minneapolis I will be in the audience with…LUCY (and her adult, which happens to be her mom, who is pretending to only go under duress but secretly wants to). Lu is pretty damn excited to see Adam, make a poster, and dance. I am pretty excited to do all those things alongside her.

I tend to be a self-declared music snob and created this sliding judgment scale that goes: Good=Non-Nickelback Quality or Bad=Nickelbackesque. This band is Non-Nickelback Quality. They are a-rockin’. Beej saw them in concert and fangirled them pretty hard and when Beej likes them then I have to like him (he’s an even bigger self-declared music snob.)

It was my birthday this past week, and not just any ordinary birthday – it was the nice, round, grownup sounding 30th birthday. Hey, a gal’s gotta celebrate extra hard!

First thing
Tonight’s game just ended with the Twins taking the first game of the series against Detroit. It is lovely to see a MN Starter pitch a great game and last 8 innings. We’ve been having bad luck in that department. (And that may be the Understatement of the Year.)

I was at Sunday’s game (as in yesterday, yo) with Ames. I was enjoying my birthday beer and birthday brat – both of which taste way better when they have “birthday” written in front of them. I also got to meet up Scoreboard Gourmet who was touring the Metrodome. Not to be all happy-go-lucky-touchy-feely but she’s pretty damn awesome so check out her blog. I don’t think I have ever met someone who loves popcorn more than my coworker Steph. Now I am going to be looking at popcorn differently.

Thursday night I ventured to 7th Street Entry (the small club within First Avenue) to see Ezra Furman & The Harpoons. I have seen this band a few times now and each time I get reminded how much I love their live show. It’s funny, loud, rocking, twangy, twitchy, twirly, hell-all those other “T” words you can think of.

For serious though, you should check out his music. Their sound can best be described as a blend between Violent Femmes and Vampire Weekend with the story and writings of Tom Waits.

I stood in line and it wasn’t too bad
So, I have a short attention span. Duh, I knew that. However, I still met up with Jolene and joined a group of awesome chicks waiting in line on Friday for the Travis concert at the Fine Line Music Café. One hour waiting outside, one hour waiting inside, one opening band and one spot in the front row. It was awesome!

My game notes
* Last night Ames and I finally clicked with a few of the other Season Ticket Holders in our area. The mom and little girl next to me, the couple next to Amy and the bald dude in front of me. I do think the Bald Dude In Front Of Me was more amused by our shenanigans and disgust over jelly bean flavors though.

* The group of four ladies behind us (who are not of the Season Ticket Holder posse) spent the entire game NOT watching the game and not speaking one word of “baseball.” Instead we listened to them make birthday plans, talk about boyfriends, cellphone pictures, and drinking antics. I get it, I get it. You don’t have to be INTO baseball to go to a game BUT you do have to STFU if you are sitting by me. At one point I wanted to wing by brand new clipboard over my head to them. Dear Four Ladies Sitting Behind Me, talk quieter.

This is where I need a bedazzler. I need to make this plain boring clipboard to be something of the Awesome-Nature. So, what should I sticker the back up with? Led Zeppelin logos? A Twins logo? David Cook (ha!)? Danny Tanner? I need ideas.
